Free Friday’s
Well it’s nearly 12 noon on Friday and I’ve taken the day off from my new teaching job to relax at the Basement Sauna in Leeds. It’s quiet, only 3 of us in, including one pushy black guy who won’t take no for an answer. I’m not racist or anything, but he just doesn’t do it for me and he seems to think he’s God’s gift. I hate that fuck you attitude some guys have!
I’m gonna stay downstairs for a while and wait for some other guys to arrive. Beside there’s a good Sandra Bullock film on, not sure which one but it has something to do with magic!
I’ve just been told it’s called Practical Magic and stars Nicole Kidman too. I’ve never seen this one!

Well, hello again! We’ve both been gone from the blogosphere for ages, but now we’re both back, and we’re both teachers! I am living in podunk town in one of the most conservative states in the US, and it is fucking awful. This is hunting and barbecue land, so the kids’ minds are blown that I’m vegetarian. A parent has also called the school to complain that a foreigner is teaching her child. I just can’t believe how ignorant these people are. Since moving here, it has occurred to me how awful it must be to be gay in a place like this. The kids, and their parents, are so homophobic. Even though I’m a straight woman, the kids think it’s weird that I’m 32 and don’t have any kids yet. Sigh. Hopefully it will get better at some point.
